The COST Action CA22115 PhraConRep is an international collaboration focused on building a multilingual repository of Phraseme Constructions (PhraCons) in Central and Eastern European languages.

What are PhraCons?
PhraCons are patterns of idiomatic word combinations made up of fixed elements (“anchors”) and flexible slots (“fillers”). They lie at the intersection of grammar and lexicon, yet remain poorly documented—especially in many European languages.

Our Mission:
• Create a multilingual repository of PhraCons across 15+ languages.
• Support comparative research, education, and translation.
• Contribute to preserving Europe’s linguistic and cultural heritage.

Who We Are:
PhraConRep brings together over 130 experts from more than 30 countries, including linguists, translators, and data scientists. Our work is carried out in five Working Groups: WG1 (Theory and Typology), WG2 (Repository Development), WG3 (Entry Processing and Translation), WG4 (Learning and Teaching), WG5 (Dissemination and Communication).

Opportunities for Members:
Through COST, PhraConRep supports mobility and networking: STSMs, Virtual Mobility Grants, ITC Conference Grants, Dissemination Conference Grants, and YRI Conference Grants.
